Total War Three Kingdoms Performance Guide Fix Total War Three Kingdoms Crashing, Stuttering, Freezing, Low FPS, Multiplayer and Graphics Issue

Overview: Total War: Three Kingdoms is a single and multiplayer turn-based strategy real-time tactics game developed by Creative Assembly and published by Sega. Today in this post we will troubleshoot to fix issues like Launching, Loading, Crashing, Stuttering, Freezing, Low FPS, Multiplayer and Graphics Issue with Total War Three Kingdoms game on PC.

Fix Error Steam is Not Available, Unable to access Steam. Please ensure that Steam is running and you are logged in

Step  1

Open Task Manager, Select Steam under Processes and click on End Task to close steam and restart Steam.

If not resolved please ensure that Steam is not set to use Compatibility features:

  • Browse to your Steam installation  C:\Program Files\Steam\
  • Right click on Steam.exe, choose Properties.
  • Click on the Compatibility tab.
  • Uncheck any boxes that are checked, and click Apply.

Reinstall Steam

If Compatibility features were not enabled, or if disabling them fails to resolve the issue, your Steam installation may be corrupted. Pease follows the instructions below to reinstall Steam files without affecting your installed games:

  • Exit Steam and go to the folder called C:\Program Files\Steam\ (this is the default location for a Steam installation – if you set a different installation directory, you will need to browse to it).
  • Delete all of the files in this folder except The Steamapps folder and Steam.exe (If ‘exe’ is not visible, look for the black and white Steam icon)
  • Restart your computer.
  • Then, you will need to launch Steam.exe from within the Steam installation folder, and not from a pre-existing shortcut.

Perform Hard Reset

Unplug all the external devices from your PC. In case of a laptop, disconnect the charger and take out the battery if it’s removable. Now press and hold the power button for a few seconds to discharge static electricity and then plug in all the required cables and devices and start the system and launch Total War Three Kingdoms.

Exit out of steam and restart the PC. Launch Steam and start the installation.

Fix Missing d3dcompiler_47.dll Error

Step 1

Copy d3dcompiler_47.dll file from any other game folder installed on your system and paste it to the Total War Three Kingdoms game folder where exe of Total War Three Kingdoms is present.

Verify game in Steam, if not resolved move to next step

  • Launch Command Prompt by typing cmd in the windows search box and type the regsvr32 /u D3DCompiler_47.dll command and hit Enter.

Error Could Not Allocate Memory/ System Out Of Memory Total War Three Kingdoms

Fix Virtual memory for Out of Memory Error.

  • Press Windows + R and type in Control Panel in the run box to open the control panel.
  • Select System and Security and then click on System.
  • Now click on Advanced System Settings on the left side.
  • On System Properties Window under the Advanced tab click on Settings 
  • On Performance Option Window under advanced click on Change
  • On Virtual Memory window, uncheck Automatically manage paging file size for all drives.
  • From the list, select the drive on which Windows 10 is installed. (C: in most cases is already selected) click to select the Custom size radio button. Now type the minimum and maximum size of the Pagefile in megabytes (MB) according to the physical memory present in your computer.

Now how to calculate Windows 10 Virtual Memory: Initial size is one and a half (1.5) x the amount of total system memory. Maximum size is three (3) x the initial size. So, in this system we have 8 GB (1 GB = 1,024 MB x 8 = 8192 MB) of memory. The initial size would be 1.5 x 8192 = 12288 MB and the maximum size would be 3 x 12288= 36864 MB.

Now click on Set and restart your PC and launch Total War Three Kingdoms.

Run Total War Three Kingdoms game as an Administrator

Right-click the Total War Three Kingdoms desktop shortcut.

If you don’t have one, look for the Total War Three Kingdoms.exe file in the executable file in the INSTALLATION DIRECTORY

Select Properties, click on the Compatibility tab and check the box at the bottom under settings where it says Run this Program as an administrator and Click Apply and OK.

  • Type Graphics Settings in the Windows search box and open Graphics Settings.
    Classic App should be selected by default. Click on Browse and select the .exe file of Total War Three Kingdoms game.
  • Now click on Options after it has been added and Select High Performance option when it prompts the new window and click on Save.
  • Now go to the installation directory and launch the .exe file of Total War Three Kingdoms as an administrator. Avoid using the desktop shortcut.

Unable to Launch Total War Three Kingdoms AMD & Nvidia Users

  • Launch NVIDIA control panel
  • Go to Manage 3D settings  and then Program Settings
  • Add Total War Three Kingdoms from the list and select High-performance NVIDIA processor from the drop-down box  and hit Apply

AMD users
