Fix New Minecraft Launcher Not Launching & Crashing On Windows 11 or 10

 

Perform the troubleshooting steps provided in this post to fix when New Minecraft Launcher is not starting/opening & crashing on Windows 11/10 PC.

Step 1) Restart PC

Go to the Start Menu, click on the power icon and then click on Restart, most of the time a simple restart fixes the issue.

Step 2) Launch Minecraft Launcher As An Administrator

Type in Minecraft Launcher in Windows search box, make a right click on Minecraft Launcher and then click on Run as administrator, click on Yes to allow to open the launcher.

Step 3) Repair/Reset Minecraft launcher

Type in Minecraft Launcher in Windows search box, make a right click and click on App Settings, scroll down, click on Repair and then launch the launcher, if not resolved, Reset the launcher.

Step 4) Uninstall and Reinstall Minecraft Launcher

In the Windows search box again type in Minecraft Launcher, make a right click and click on Uninstall to uninstall the launcher. After the uninstall restart your PC and reinstall Minecraft Launcher from Microsoft Store or Xbox App.

Step 5) Uninstall & Reinstall Windows 7/8 Version Of Minecraft Launcher

Uninstall the Minecraft Launcher once again, this time go to Minecraft website provided below:
https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/download

From Minecraft website click on the option “DOWNLOAD FOR WINDOWS 7/8“, install it and launch Minecraft Launcher.

Step 6) Uninstall & Reinstall Gaming Services

Type in PowerShell in Windows search box, make a right clik on Windows PowerShell and click on Run as administrator. Click on Yes to allow and paste the command provided below and hit the Enter key on the keyboard to uninstall Gaming Services.

Get-AppxPackage *gamingservices* -allusers | remove-appxpackage -allusers

Once done, paste the below command on the same PowerShell Window and hit the Enter key, this will open Microsoft Store. Click on Install to install Gaming Services.

Step 7) Login With Same Account In Xbox App & Microsoft Store

Open Microsoft Store and Xbox App, on the top right , click on the Profile icon, logout and login with same account on both the App.

 Step 8) Install All The Updates In Microsoft Store

Open Microsoft Store, on the bottom left click on Library, on the top right click on Get Updates, once all updates are installed launch Minecraft Launcher.

 Step 9) Update Windows

Open Windows Settings, go to Update & Security/Windows Update and click on Check for updates, once update is installed restart your PC and open Minecraft Launcher.

Step 10) Run WSRESET Command

Type wsreset in Windows search box to open wsreset, you will see a black screen, do not close the black, black screen will go away in few seconds or couple of minutes and it will open Microsoft store, once store is open launch the launcher.

Step 11) Run PowerShell command

Type in PowerShell in Windows search box, make a right clik on Windows PowerShell and click on Run as administrator. Click on Yes to allow and paste the command provided below and hit the Enter key on the keyboard.

Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

This will reinstall all the default Windows apps, during this process you will see some errors in red colors, ignore these errors and let the process complete. Once done close PowerShell window and open Minecraft Launcher.
